Reinvent your Thursday nights with the Newark Museum’s Late Thursdays. Relax after hours with creatively inspired social evenings that offer a fresh take on the Museum’s captivating collections, through a dynamic mix of music, food, drinks, art, and entertainment.
Please note: Museum open late from 5-9 pm, free admission.
Late Thursday events run 6-9 pm.
Calling all sunshine revelers! Celebrate hot fun in the city with activities honoring the upcoming summer solstice.
* Instantly print photos of the sun directly from your smartphone onto a free t-shirt.
* Enjoy a breakdance-meets-yoga performance honoring June’s International Day of Yoga,
* Sketch a live, flamboyantly costumed semi-nude sun god figure model.
* Also: Decorate a large maypole, create buttons using light, enjoy a beanbag toss game, and experience the wonder of nature in our planetarium and galleries.
Scandinavian-inspired light refreshments will be served.
On Late Thursdays, unexpected activities and experiences spark new insights and connections -- with art, ideas, and one another. Pop-up performances, deep discussions and interactive games bring artwork in the galleries to life. The Planetarium transforms into Another Planet, theatrical experiences of music and digital art using 360° fulldome projection. Each evening focuses on a different topic or theme, generating a unique experience every time. (Late Thursdays take place April - June & October - December)
