Educational Loan Collection  

Teaching with objects in the classroom is an exciting way to address the core curriculum standards.  The Museum has the most extensive teaching collection in New Jersey.  There are more than 15,000 objects and artifacts available for teachers to borrow—16 distinct "collections" that support art, social studies, science, and English language arts.

Subject areas include: international crafts and culture, world religions, history, ancient civilizations, life sciences, earth science, astronomy, and more.  Supporting resource materials including books, audio-visuals, and teaching guides are also available.

Professionally installed mini-exhibits can also be arranged.  Installations are available to complement Hispanic Heritage, Black History, Asian History, and more.

Fees

To have lending rights, an individual, school, or organization must register each year.  Check or money order payable to "Newark Museum Association."

Special Services to Newark public schools include:

How to Borrow:

A complete catalog of lending materials is available, click here.

Objects are packed in sturdy carrying cases and are lent for two-week periods.  A convenient schedule is arranged for schools to pick up and return the materials to the Museum.

Fines are imposed for overdue, damaged, or lost materials.
