Ready or Not

Ready or Not, the New Jersey Arts Annual in Fine Art, opening June 27, will feature works by New Jersey-based artists, and encompass a cross section of contemporary art, varying in practice and medium.  This show will include a range of artistic processes—exploring color, form and material, and will exhibit a variety of site-specific works, where artists utilize unconventional spaces within the Museum as areas for creation and display.

“This multi-dimensional approach provides a unique forum to cultivate and expand the Museum’s commitment towards the increasingly vital and independent art scene,” says the show’s organizer, Shlomit Dror, Consulting Curator of American Art.

About the New Jersey Arts Annual

The New Jersey Arts Annual is a unique series of exhibitions highlighting the works of the state’s visual artists in the areas of fine arts and crafts. One exhibition takes place each year in either fine arts or crafts, in altering sequence. Artists currently living or working in New Jersey were selected both by invitation and open call, juried by Shlomit Dror and Rocío Aranda-Alvarado, Curator at El Museo del Barrio.

The Arts Annual series is cosponsored by the New Jersey State Council on the Arts/Department of State, a partner Agency of the National Endowment for the Arts; the Montclair Art Museum, the Morris Museum, The Newark Museum, The Noyes Museum of Art, and the New Jersey State Museum.

Ready or Not will be on view through September 7.
